Use of ozone on denim (back-dyeing removal)

 

Ozone fragments indigo dye first by changing it into isatine and acid and removes the dye off the surface of the cloth. With Celikhan ozone, the back-dyeing of denim which weighs 100kg can be removed in 10 minutes. With grinding and enzyme-washing, waste indigo (Van-der Waals) which spread all over the denim after the bathing process are oxidized by the ozone. In this way, pockets and pollutant dyes are completely removed. It is important to remove back-dyeing in the washing processes. By using dispergators, neutral stone enzyme, laccase enzyme or by keeping liquor ratio high in desizing, stone-washing and rinsing, cleaning can be achieved. Back-dyeing removal process is carried out without recourse to any other process by Celikhan ozone through drying and ozonizing the denim after stone-washing. Thus, in a facility which processes 10,000 pieces (washing) of denim a day, it is possible to save 20,000 – 20,000 Euros a month.

 

 

Color and Tone Control

 

Isatine which is produced as a result of the reaction of ozone and indigo produces a green/yellow tone. Sometimes, greenish grayish or light-reddish tone which is achieved using persuflate can also be achieved through ozone-processing. In this process, prolonging the halving-period by controlling the repeatability, reaction parameters (time, ozone concentration, humidity etc.) and the existence of free oxygen in the environment are required as necessary. It is very easy and more practical to achieve and maintain this by using Celikhan ozone because reaction parameters can be kept constant at the beginning, during and after the reaction.
